An appliance that sits on your worktop that can cook your dinner, lunch or pudding very slowly - with absolutely no supervision from you. It might sound too good to be true, but that's exactly what a slow cooker can do. They're much more versatile than you might think, too - use the low function on your slow cooker to simmer soups, stews and casseroles and use the high setting to slow cook your favourite cut of meat. You can even use your slow cooker as a water bath for puds and egg dishes! If your slow cooker has been languishing at the back of your kitchen cupboards, it's time to dig it out! It's an ultra-versatile appliance that will happily sit on the worktop cooking your dinner while you're at work - you can even throw breakfast into it before you go to bed and wake up to a freshly cooked full English.
