Crabs are crustacean seafood commonly served either on their own, or mixed with other seafood such as lobster, prawns and shrimps. It's an incredibly versatile ingredient that is commonly used in hundreds of dishes in all different styles of cooking.

Crabs are found on almost any beach throughout the world. Both the claw meat and the darker meat are generally used for more flavour. A crab is often hollowed out, with the meat served in the shell for presentation.

They are often cooked in a creamy sauce or made into a light, creamy, dish, but they can be cooked in many sorts of ways including curry and chilli. Crab can also be used to stuff things such as steak or tomatoes which is why it is so versatile.
